Proactive Alerting for Performance
Citrix Essentials for XenServer provides e-mail alerting based on XenServer host and virtual machine performance levels. Administrators can create simple monitoring policies to alert administrators when performance thresholds are reached on a host or virtual machine. Administrators can control threshold limits and alerting intervals for CPU, network, and storage resource usage per XenServer host or virtual machine.

Proactive Alerting for Platform Health
In addition to alerting on system performance, Citrix Essentials for XenServer also monitors and provides notification on the health of the virtualization platform. Administrators are alerted if a critical error occurs (such as a hardware failure), with follow-on alerts confirming the recovery of the affected systems (as achieved by Citrix Essentials for XenServer High Availability). Administrators also receive notifications of updates to XenServer or XenCenter.
